About the Author
YA fantasy Wattpad sensation, Taran Matharu, is the author of the The Summoner series, which includes two New York Times bestsellers: The Novice and The Inquisition. Taran began to write the Summoner series in November 2013 at the age of 22, taking part in the internet writing phenomenon Nanowrimo. On Wattpad, The Novice has been read over 7.5 million times! Inquisitioin... awsome

Cliffhanger... but so worth the read. This book picks up a year after the Novice ended starting with a trial and it sucks you up and doesn't let you go until the last page. In this book we find out more about the Orcs and just why a salamander is so important. We also find out who Fletchers' parents are. I love this book, its fast paced and while I thought it was practically impossible this book is even better than the first. I can't wait to see what will happen in the next book. Though I do wish the next book was not the last book in the trilogy, the series is just to good for it to be over so soon.

I think that this is a great book and really deserves the 5 stars. I do have some questions though. First I saw several Easter eggs to Pokemon, such as the vulpid perfectly describing the pokemon vulpix. Also it was obvious to me that Lysandre was named exactly after the boss of team flare.
I also noticed that the health and mana potions were described exactly like they are in many RPGs which I found very fitting for the theme of the book.
Finally I noticed that the dwarves culture is very similar to Muslim culture, such as the veil and the beards. I even noticed that even though it may not be very relevant King Alfric sounded similar to Donald Trump.

Really unique and yet fuses great elements of this genre

This book is even better than the first. I am so excited for the third installment that I have pre ordered it. Matharu's writing is stronger and the storyline is tighter. Everything is interconnected. I love how much he planned every bit out. There are a lot of great lines and unexpected little twists. I am very much impressed with this. I plan to buy more books of his in the future. I am right now trying to find similar books in this genre but haven't had much luck. I do recommend this highly.
